With Gary’s near bursting ego after winning the (CAT 3) State MTB Championships of MA, we didn’t have room to fit a guest in the studio, so we hope you enjoy our conversation today on what rewards and awards mean, whether it’s cool for Kilian to “play” around during races, and the risks we take to enjoy competition, and my 100 mi MTB race this coming weekend in the San Juans.
Today on Elevation Trail Michael Wissell joins us to talk about his experience in the Trans-Sylvania Epic Stage Race that took place last week. Sounds like a well organized circus with pro athletes and Whoopie Pies. And…Gary now has chickens.
We cover everything from nutrition to the mental aspects of racing ultra-endurance events. Thanks for listening!
Join us today as (broken bones) Tim Long and Gary David welcome Annika Iltis and Timothy Kane, the filmmakers behind the Barkley Marathons documentary www.barkleymovie.com. They’ve spent the last three years at the race and have some incredible stories revolving around what is arguably the toughest foot race in the world. Join us as we delve into the price and pain of play.

Special guest here today on Elevation Trail and the Footfeathers Show. Welcome to Jason Lantz, fresh off his victory at the Vermont 100. Hope you enjoy our chat about the race, the competition, attributes of ultras on the East Coast, and pressuring Jason to start a blog.

Welcome to Elevation Trail and the Footfeathers Show. Today Gary David and I talk about pacing and his pacing adventure at the Vermont 100 miler last weekend. We also discuss the lack of coverage for Vermont’s race, as well as most East Coast events, Grand Slam top contender, Nick Clark (Gary’s new BFF), Leadville 100, and a bunch of other stuff. Hope you enjoy it and please feel free to comment – we live for comments!
Welcome back to Elevation Trail and the Footfeathers Show. Since Tan Nguyen doesn’t keep a blog and didn’t intend on recording his experience at his first 100 mile race at the San Diego 100, I thought it’d be a good idea to talk with him about his race and his feelings following the “ordeal”. I hope you enjoy our little chat and that maybe it gives you strength to push through your next bad patch at a race.
Welcome back to the FM Show with Footfeathers and Matt. Jam packed show covering some stunning performances over the weekend, including Transvulcania, Ice Age 50, Quad Rock 50, FKTs being broken, course records going down, and Matt even talks about The Hobbit a little…
Welcome back to Elevation Trail and the FM Show with Footfeathers and Matt. We chat about Miwok’s 60k alteration and podium finishes, Transvulcania taking place on the beautiful island of La Palma, and some other great news items in our awesome sport.

Welcome to Elevation Trail and this edition of the FM Show with Footfeathers Tim Long and Matt Copeland. Today I recap my Zion 100 mile race that took place over the weekend, which leads us to the discussion of whether 100s can really be competitive or are they simply a challenge of survival to reach the finish line as the main goal? Also, we talk about the physical and possible mental damage racing 100 milers can cause. Matt wonders whether I’m serious about giving up 100s.
Please leave a comment with your opinion or question and we’ll address it in our next show. Thanks for listening!
